If you’ve ever wanted to know how to turn off those annoying notification boxes that pop up in NAV & BC, you’re not alone. These notifications are meant to be a helpful tool, but they often begin to become an annoyance when working on daily activities in the system. I highlight below the notifications that I see most frequently working in an accounting/finance role within NAV & BC, as well as steps on how these notifications can be disabled. Note that this applies to many roles within the system, and not just exclusively accounting/finance roles.
Previously I posted how to accomplish this time- and stress-saver in Dynamics NAV. Now let's take a look at how to turn off notifications in Business Central.
If you are a Business Central user, this is just as easy for you. You can type ‘my notifications’ in the Tell Me search box and you should see it listed under Go To Pages and Tasks.
The Business Central screen will look similar, but you’ll notice that there are more notification options listed. Take a little bit of time to go through these and turn off any notifications that you don’t want to see on your screen anymore. A little time spent editing your notification settings can save you a lot of time in the future.
I’ll admit that I didn’t discover until a couple years into being a NAV & Business Central user that these notifications can be triggered on and off. Part of the reason I wanted to write these blog posts is in hope that it can help someone else make that same discovery and make their life a little easier!
